Veni Vidi we ate and Babbled

and missed you Mons.
Will see you @ the engagement.
I have a feeling we are collectively more excited about it than Shweta's bro is about this :)
So much to talk about and so little time sometimes I wonder..............
do we spend more time speculating than actually acting I for one do
but when I look at actions I have taken they have been mostly spur of the movements type.
so does planning really work ? I guess for some it does for me I would love it to work but for now
I am happy with on the spur ***which brings me back to the limbo that I feel I am in
not as in stuck but because I have given it too much thought but thanks to Prachi and anshu and shweta acting all horrified and saying go and push and shove
I think I will push and shove and prepare for an interview even if I know the result so what.
at least I tried and will get some feedback which I may feel is relevant 5 yrs from now ;)

TAKE CARE LADIES SEE YOU ALL ON FRIDAY
AND PLEASE WRITE SOMETHING ON THE BLOG
ONLY THREE ENTRIES FOR DEC we are at the years lowest (now now just becasue the market is loosing figures we don't have to )

Jai Mata Di

Just back from Vaishno Devi
Went on friday and was back on sunday.
So my spiritual year is about to end in Bombay (going to mum on 24 Dec) and will try and goto Haji Ali (Prach have you been there? any tips)

So went in a chopper (don't think you had to guess that :)
and rode a (poor) horse and and rediscovered the joy of seeing a milestone.

It is the second time that I went to Vaishno Devi
THe first time I was in about Class IV so much has changed now-cafe coffee day etc.
except for the monkeys on the way and of course the manyata of the temple
the yummy rajma (with no onion garlic)

Had made three plans this year to go to Kashmir
one with Divya to Sringar (flopped big time )
one khayalon mein with Mons for the tulip garden (yeh bhi flop)
and now finally atleast I went till Jammu.

Got stuck in a traffic jam on Sunday on my wasy to Jammu from Katra.
Last Sunday was general election day for them.
ohh almost forgot we hired an ambi from Jammu to Katra love the comfy car
ok so while we were stuck in the Jam our driver was telling us ki by paas par saari guddi jaam kar di hain Srinagar jaanein wali gaadeiyan to subah se atki hai blah blah and then the army guys let go of the traffice from the opposite direction, and our driver goes yeh dekho kashmir ki gaddiyan Jk01 and JK03 wale number inke hotein hain gaddi door se pehchani jaati, rang ek dum chamakda hai kyonki enkein yehan dhoop kam hoti hai :)
Kitni professional observation thi.
And you have to hear them do MC BC though jammuites i think have a punju and himachli tone par gaali gaali nahi lagti.
Dont ask kahan suni thi obviously 2 hrs ka traffic jam tha yaar.

Comfortably Numb, how is that possible ?

I have been in a numb state and therefore the hiatus from the blog was just sitting and watching everything going by with no reactions. So ended it this weekend with guess karo ............
Shopping :)
went shopping with Shwets first for a shawl and saree for my mom then took an aunt to Nalli she wanted to pick up something and of course I bought 3 salwaar suits :) (want to goto amritsar again)
and then Sunday picked up winter ke liye shoes (3 pairs- one beige one choc brown and one white and now I shall wear them this year)
Ah ha is it nice to be back :) nothing beats worldy pleasures. thank God for that
I have that as a solution for some years (I hope).
So my plan for this winter I am going to try and wear formals everyday to work so be it western or (yes yes) sarees :) .
Kuch to life mein change ho (kyon?)

Last couple of weeks have been quite sad as the job market is going really bad and any hope of me quitting BPO or down the ganda drain.
Moreover, it is really sad to know of the employees who have been asked to leave from Amex in OZ and I really like some of them.
Two of them are like grand daddies and utterly harmlees and soooo helpful.
Poor oldies will have to look for a job :( it is the atlanta (NAHD) wala feeliong all over again.
And then there are major migration plans going on which I SIMPLY HATE to be a part of.
(like something inside me just does not let me move) to the extent that there is a IJP for my next level and I don't want to even apply for it (not that I am getting it)
My funda being ki if I hate this so much whats the point of going higher in the hierarchy and then
never be able to get rid of the tag. for a 30-40% hike in salary being hated by India and oz ops and anyways hating the job.
So I am in this state of Inertia ........................ career wise.

Went to Landsdowne with my team members last weekend.
It was awesome, they have this jungle trek and all which was fun
I went about halfway was wearing my chappals and otherwise also could not have done a trek
on the steep mountains with pine leaves (its pretty slippery) par mere team ke naujawan log gaye thei and they saw a leapords cave.
So we played badminton, cricket, water football (u get the pic), flash, dumb shell arts
antakshri & went to see the sunset all on Saturday.
Imagine how much you can do if you are not BUSY watching TV or commuting to work or working.
After an hour we were like ki time beet hi nahin raha.
No wonder bachon ke liye din itney lambey hotey hain. (Bright light )
All in all amazing go to know my team a bit better and good bonding shonding happened.

So this friday I am off to Vaishno Devi with Sunayana and will be back on sunday.
Looking forward to the trek uphill and see how bloody unhealthy I am :(
Planning to go uptill Adkuari and then take an auto to the Bhawan (yes they have autos there now)
or maybe take the chopper but it does not give me that feeling (pious /shraddha wali)
So I guess I am going to see you guys once Anssssu is here
Lets block the 30th Nov or 29 th evening.

Exams!

Well 50% of exam over today & another one finishes tomorrow morning & then only one left! Yipee!!!! exams make me feel like a school girl again - cramming (trying atleast as memory bank is old and full). Oh my fingers & hand are absolutely numb..

As for Dostana i shall watch in India - anything would be good? What abt the Bond movie 0 anyone seen it as yet?

Rushi - ki movie - what is this & who is in it - she did the costumes?! Prach, u going for the Premier? what are you going to wear?

...finally we all are on the same page re Almost Single...!! Shweta, I think this is too cute a stunt to waste on dumb bosses!! they should be transported to some Godforsaken island!! ha ha
Training in my ofc has been stopped for the next 50 days!!So, I have all the time in the world..guys these are rough times..just keeping my fingers crossed....
Prach-Studying is a good, however my take is take on sometting that makes you an enterpreneur..after studying you should not be dependent on organizations to give you employment...
I am taking sanyas..maybe Mathura or Benaras..:) :)
lets meet up before I take to the saffron robes etc etc..

My phone's sms function is not working :(

is thinking .....

I am thinking of going back to school i really want to learn something new in life and more. Strange i never thought i cld say this but ..i guess maybe its anshu :)

Almost Single question :

if u guys had to do some like the toilet paper stunt on someones car ...who wld it be ?

Savy : i have heard its a grt place , enjoy !

Gossipy Days

Aajkal you will find everyone standing in corners and going hush hush and whats happening ....
kind of talk.
Am a little " bahut ho gaya, lets get over with it stage now"
no ones affected now in my office but so many of counterparts in Australia have been affected
its really sad, till 2 days ago my boss wasn't sure if he was staying or going that's how clueless everyone is.
Worst part is now over everyone who is leaving knows and the rest of us are not supposed to know
(that's a real tough one )
From Boom time to bum time has taken less than six months
people who had been promoted six months ago, the same positions have become redundant.
If this whats happening where I am imagine the supposedly lesser organized companies and so much for all the big brainy people sitting on top and managing.
Though we may be getting more its not a good feeling.
Have hated this feeling from NAHD days when we had to goto Atlanta.
Well, going to end this here as am going to go on and on about this.

Going to Landsdowne for this weekend
Take care

Another semester over!

Thursday was my last class for this semester & it flew by... Now i just have to study fr 4 exams taking place in a week!! & i am in a mood to party!
Diwali was a little depressing for me - as I missed Home, Family & India too much. It just didn't feel like Diwali here - nothing at all... Fortunately as it was the last class for one of the subjects, we all went out for a sumptuous dinner & forgot my woes for a while. I am glad you guys enjoyed yourself! I shall be in India for my next Diwali.

I have gone on a shopping spree & went and bought 11 management books to read over the next few months - but when the hell do i have the time?! let's see.. As this semester has ended so soon, now i am worried about my future?! it feels like post college all over again - what to do, where to apply, will i get it, who will give me a job , etc etc etc.. only i am 15 years older than the previous experience & don't take life so seriously! ha ha ha
See you guys in Nov - after i have been to the parlour & beautified myself again to look presentable & recognizable again.

HAPPY DEEPAWALI PEOPLE

I am reading Almost single and Mom is worried ;-)

becoz she thinks that i have dropped the idea of getting married ..ha ha
book is good..im enjoying it. I like the character Misha more than Aisha//she is funny!!!!

BTW gals I might meet another guy shortly---my parents are serious this time and have told me to get serious too.
You are right Savy divorce is in the air but lets try to be a part of 20% :

Sunday, October 26, 2008

By the Way

completely forgot to mention when two/three years ago all (well most of) my friends were getting married nowadays I get to hear about 35% of them are thinking of getting divorced............
and about 20% sure that that's what they want.

Life surely has new expectations nowadays.

Spoke to Nandita and she is shifting base to pune and I asked her if she wanted to meet for a cup of coffee.
so what say coffee with her in Nov? may be once anshu is back or maybe before that depending on the response we get here :)

Jaanein Kyun

Hehe Jaanein kyun I am all pepped up and find everything good.
Me not being able to find a job too :))))))))))
even the traffic jams :)
you see after the blasts the roads were all khaali and it was a bit unusual
So me too happy to see the frenzy despite the market and recession and retrenchment stories a week or two away, as most companies are announcing there decision post diwali
No work coming our way in corp travel as everyone has a T&E freeze.

so lets all live it up ..........................

Yes and Prachi love the song desi gurl and in fact I have started liking priyanka chopra.

Anshu is busy doing the disappearing act before coming home it seems.

Gud weekend but slow monday

Sat -I went to Ayush's school for PTM (Parent Teachers meeting) as my di jiju cud not attend. his teacher appreciated him a lot except his bad handwriting (and that's khandani so nothing to worry as such:-)....It felt so proud as if I have done all the hardwork ha ha- Good experience
and then to hospital to meet lil one and di.
you know guys she sleeps all the time..she wud drink thoda sa milk and then sleep..phir kissi ka baap bhi madam ko jaga nahin sakta!! she is so small that actually amazes me...how such a small baby transforms into...
Di got discharged on sunday so whole day went in that. tomorrow is 6th day of the baby so we will have small puja at home.
Monday again at work...nothing enthusiastic...same people same work
I went to 2-3 book shops for Alomost Single but everywhere its out of stock ...will try for a copy and then read.
Mons - u will find something really gud soon, dont worry,....glad you are doing up ur home, its fun
Anshu- waiting for u to come ...we will have a bash
Prachi- how z work? any interesting assignment?
Savy - tum kahan ho aajkal ?

Good one !

In 1988, then-vice president George
Bush made a (Freudian?) slip during a campaign speech. He said, “We’ve
had triumphs. We’ve made mistakes. We’ve had sex.” He’d meant to say
“setbacks.” After the audience had picked itself up from the floor, Bush
observed, “I feel like the javelin thrower who won the toss and elected to
receive.” On the Nightly News, Connie Chung reported his gaffe—and his
excellent “recovery.”

SpoilSport

..Guys, I owe you an apology for not blogging regularly. If it's any excuse, I am really stressed, boss issues(story of our lives!!) and not to mention the uncertainity on the job front.
I have started looking out actively..though I doubt if I meet with success soon..things are really slow.
As a contingency, I have started doing up my Greater Noida house so that i can start living there and save on the rent piece!!That's how my weekend went..talking to the painter, some plumbing issues etc etc..hopefully by nov , the house should be ready to move in.
..Shweta-I am really happy to see you so happy...!! I am looking forward to meeting the lil one in december!! :)
Prach-How are you feeling??After viral weakeness is worse than the viral itself..

I agree about Almost Single-it's a book wrth talking about..
Some other books that come to my mind are-Kite Runner/Alchemist..they are old but lets ensure that none of us miss reading these priceless pieces of literature.
Hey..how about reading something simple about Vivekananda and Vedas??That is life changing stuff..shall we take baby steps into that foray or is it too erly for you guys?
BE HONEST-coz I feel , I am reday to read that stuff..

Enjoying the Spring!

Hello darlings!
how are you All doing?! i just finished my vacations & still am in the mood for more holidays.. Had an intersting class yesterday, where i learnt a little more about Chinese culture & how Buddhism evolved there from India & how it is different from the Buddhism in Thailand & SL! & how our values have influenced they way we work..
Everytime assignments & exam dates comeup, it makes me feel like a kid again with the anxiety levels hitting the roof! I am thinking beyond those & will be in India end of Nov - so am dreaming of the time when there will be no cooking, cleaning, washing & only eating, etc...
BTW i joined TAI CHI classes today & had fun! thought most of the participants were older than me - i still enjoyed myself - slow, relaxing & exercise- couldn't get better for a lazy person like me....

Andy will be town this weekend and I will attending 2 weddings ....one of my school frnd and other andy frnd :)

I am back people

had a nice stay overall...met lot of people after a long time
Long powers cuts...no use of having AC's and inverters... that's real India I guess

well its good to be back home but not work :(

Good time movie time

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Long time no blog I know you guys missed me terribly.
Mons and Anshu kuch likh bhi do yaar.

Saw kidnap with Mons,Ambi and prachi
wanted to kidnap imran khan from da movie.
He was trying so hard to mouth those stupid akkad bakkad dialogues with a straight face.
why could n't we have him like Joker aka Jack Nicholson if the script writer had to put the stupid nursery rhymes or like apan Sharook in baazigar all evil only.

Anyways it was fun watching the movie overall me with making loud comments and the uncle in front of me trying to tell me to keep quiet by banging his hand on the top of his seat (he he )
Ambs must have been embarassed Baaki logon ko to meri aadat hai :)
waissey quite a lot of people have told me to keep quiet during a movie but believe you me
it is only when they are stupid ones like face off and the likes no sir pair wala types.
Otherwise I am the best companion during the movies eat from my popcorn bucket and drink from my coke glass.

Hmmm going to ther books piece
I am actually reading Paul Coelho's The Valkyries and have been pretty slow like read soem days and not on others hence the BC suggestion.
So its upto you guys if you are up for some new age wisdom.

Other suggestions these I have read but would love to have a MC around it

Jumpha Lahiri's -Unaccustomed Earth
Altaf Tyrewala- No God in Sight

(both have short stories in it that link to one story)

Movies Movies o Ho

i watched a lot of movies this weekend ..it started with KIDNAP and then SAJJANPUR ( It is good in parts) and today evening HELLBOY ( I have some hope). It was fun coz i watched these movies with different set of people. Thanks to less work i am able to catch up with lots of people i really like and reconnect with them , making me realise that i had lost connection with them long time back :( . It's amazing how job takes over our lives , well in my case I LET IT take over and enjoyed it . And to be honest it will happen again COZ i enjoy it that way BUT this time it will be balance :D

Savi : I love your idea of BOOK CLUB ( BC ) and then MEET CLUB (MC) he he he he .

SO PEOPLE WHICH BOOK DO WE START WITH ????

FYI I am slow reader

I love the DOSTANA song : http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=FmOF4nyUtZI

Am travelling to my hometown tomorrow

After 4 years of long time, i am going to my hometown tomorrow with my Mom Dad...which is in eastern UP and the name of the place is Basti.
dont go by the name ...basti is not a village...its a district//my mom dad both were born and brought up there and we have a parental house ...a big house like a haveli with huge terrace and courtyard ,app 15 rooms with a traditional kitchen (with ofcourse modern equipments) as big as courtyard. My chacha stays there.
I am taking Ayush also along as he has never seen a small city and haveli...it also has a big garden with all kind of trees...i am gonna climb up the trees and pluck fruits and will make Ayush also do that.
Imagine..a city without Malls, no traffic Jams, people come back from work latest by 6p...sleep early by 9p..get up early by 5 AM....long power cuts but you can sleep on a terrace with natural AC on..
starting tomorrow morning and will be back sunday night.
I think these 3-4 days will be a different experience altogether.

Ok C u guys...
Kya huya aajkal no body is updating blog????

Then sat...my cell rang...it was Priyank (Yes his name is Priyank)
talked for about 20 mins..asking hobbies, dislikes, work bla bla...he said lets meet i said OK
Guy over the phone sounded very impressive....good voice, impeccable english...looked like well educated
Sun...he called again and was in a mood to chat again for long but cut short the conversation by fixing a time for monday 6 pm..ok Monday 6 PM...Uniqafe
My folks were highly enthu about it
Finally time came and I reached 20 mins late....bacause my cab broke on the way..called him and he said no issues like a gentleman
Reached the cafe and saw him and chatted face to face ....and i felt..NO NO he is not a kind of hubby I am looking for
Ok now what made me feel so ----average looking guy but very thin and short (didnot look that thin and short in photograph) realised this when both of us stood up to get tea for ourselves. OMG - huge difference am healthy and was looking much taller ...just imagine
But that's not the main factor...he asked about my career plan and I told him I am career oriented girl and plan to start my own company one day.
here the story takes turn suddenly...a guy who was saying he doesnot mind his wife working suddenly said it is not easy to run a company especially for woman...u know ghar hota hai use dekhna hota hain n etc etc
and gals I was sure....that he is not the one I am looking for.
Ok BTW guy works and lives in Gurgaon only which was another factor I agreed for meeting up :-)

Finally...I am still single and in search for Mr right.

If you are not living on the edge, you are wasting too much space

Well me looking for work , got some need more . last three months have taught me so much and i have learnt and interacted with so many people that's its amazing. It's amazing how motivated we all are when need be. We give ourselves less credit ....i thought i would crack up and giveup BUT i have this strong feeling that i will make it.
Moral of my story : If you are not living on the edge, you are wasting too much space! As of today i don't regret my decision. Tomorrow is another day !

MY YOGA was amazing today !

To make something special you just have to believe it's special!!!!!!!

meri kahani

Guys...my mom dad have seriously started hunting (sorry to use this word) suitable match for me.....lets see what's store in for me

Savy- my case is different ..after serious head count reduction exercise we are now into serious hiring...so basically we suddenly need 10 10 people more in each team. I think somebody in my office knows how to get business for recruitment consultants...do I need to xplain who is this somebody???? yes yes....u know it but no prizes for right answer!!

And also suddenly sales focus company is changed to customer focus company and we will be running customer focus campaign next month - "customer means the world to us"

Well!! I liked your idea Savy:-)

Chalo cu guys later

Mons aap phir gayab ho gaye?

Prachi- where r u dear?

Anshu - aap kahan ho?

pls likho guys ....

Compelled to Appreciate the story

Murder / Suicide... A very interesting case...At the 1994 annual awards dinner given for Forensic Science, AAFS President Dr Don Harper Mills astounded his audience with the legal complications of a bizarre death. Here is the Case:On March 23, 1994 the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and concluded that he died from a shotgun wound to the head. Mr. Opus had jumped from the top of a ten-story building intending to commit suicide. He left a note to the effect indicating his despondency .As he fell past the ninth floor his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast passing through a window, which killed him instantly.Neither the shooter nor the deceased was aware that a safety net had been installed just below the eighth floor level to protect some building workers and that Ronald Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide the way he had planned."Ordinarily," Dr Mills continued, "A person, who sets out to commit suicide and ultimately succeeds, even though the mechanism might not be what he intended, is still defined as committing suicide." That Mr. Opus was shot on the way to certain death, but probably would not have been successful because of the safety net, caused the medical examiner to feel that he had a homicide on his hands. In the room on the ninth floor, where the shotgun blast emanated, was occupied by an elderly man and his wife. They were arguing vigorously and he was threatening her with a shotgun. The man was so upset that when he pulled the trigger he completely missed his wife and the pellets went through the window striking Mr. Opus. When one intends to kill subject "A" but kills subject "B" in the attempt, one is guilty of the murder of subject "B".When confronted with the murder charge the old man and his wife were both adamant and both said that they thought the shotgun was unloaded. The old man said it was a long-standing habit to threaten his wife with the unloaded shotgun. He had no intention to murder her. Therefore the killing of Mr. Opus appeared to be an accident; that is, if the gun had been accidentally loaded. The continuing investigation turned up a witness who saw the old couple's son loading the shotgun about six weeks prior to the fatal accident. It transpired that the old lady had cut off her son's financial support and the son, knowing the propensity of his father to use the shotgun threateningly, loaded the gun with the expectation that his father would shoot his mother.Since the loader of the gun was aware of this, he was guilty of the murder even though he didn't actually pull the trigger. The case now becomes one of murder on the part of the son for the death of Ronald Opus. Now comes the exquisite twist. Further investigation revealed hat the son was, in fact, Ronald Opus. He had become increasingly despondent over the failure of his attempt to engineer his mother's murder. This led him to jump off the ten-story building on March 23rd, only to be killed by a shotgun blast passing through the ninth story window. The son had actually Murdered himself, so the medical examiner closed the case as a suicide.

Cough and Cold but Winters you are WELCOME

Have a really bad cold since Monday (he he kaam ke naam par apney aap bimaar pad jati hoon)
anyways have been going to work like a good faithful employee helping my company face the financial difficulties it is going through.
You see everybody talks about headcount reduction and I have to share my bright ideas about having detachable heads so that next day everyday can come to work with no head ...you get the drift, right.
Aactually , why can we not have part time employment in India I would be the first to detach my head :)
Still searching for a better way at spending my working hours and not being very successful.
But I have faith n hope n u guys (who r equally depressed)
sorry to see you here but am glad we are all in it.

I just read this...and loved it too - MUST READ

PARENTS ARE PRECIOUS!!
>
> This was narrated by an IAF pilot at
> a Seminar recently on Human Relations :
>
>
> My parent s left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the
> airport to see them off. In fact, my father had never traveled by air
> before, so I just took this opportunity to make him experience the
> same.
> In spite of
> being asked to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on Jet
> Airways. The moment I handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised
> to see that I had booked them by air. The excitement was very apparent
> on his face, waiting for the time of travel. Just like a school boy,
> he was preparing himself on that day and we all went to the airport,
> right from using the trolley for his luggage, the baggage check-in and
> asking for a window seat and waiting restlessly for the security
> check-in to happen. He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was
> overcome with joy watching him experience all these things.
>
> As they were about to go in for the security check-in, he walked up to
> me with tears in his eyes and thanked me. He became very emotional and
> it was not as if I had done something great but the fact that this
> meant a great deal to him. When he said thanks, I told him there was
> no need to thank me.
> But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back at my
> life.. As a child, how many dreams our parents have made come true.
> Without
> understanding the financial situation, we ask for cricket bats,
> dresses, toys, outings, etc. Irrespective of their affordability, they
> have catered to all our needs. Did we ever think about the sacrifices
> they had to make to accommodate many of our wishes? Did we ever say
> thanks for all that they have done for us? Same way, today when it
> comes to our children, we always think that we should put them in a
> good school. Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure that
> we will have t give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc. But we
> tend to forget that our parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to
> see us happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams
> are realized and what they failed to see when they were young.
> It is our responsibility to ensure that they experience all those and
> their life is complete.
>
> Many times, when my parents had asked me some questions, I have
> actually answered back without patience. When my daughter asks me
> something, I have been very polite in answering. Now I realize how
> they would have felt at those moments. Let us realize that old age is
> a second childhood and just as we take care of our children, the same
> attention and same care needs to be given to our parents and elders.
> Rather than my dad saying thank you to me, I would want to say sorry
> for making him wait so long for this small dream. I do realize how
> much he has sacrificed for my sake and I will do my best to give the
> best possible attention to all their wishes.
>
> Just because they are old does not mean that they will have to give up
> everything and keep sacrificing for their grandchildren also. They
> have wishes, too.
>
>
>
> Take care of your parents. THEY ARE PRECIOUS.

I love training ...its so much of a HIGH it's amazing...its makes me happy.

Home to CP to Home .was my day

That's all i did from home went to CP and back ...on the way back it took me 3hrs . Thanks to the rain.
I wonder what is with rain and traffic Jams ..like really why ? 10 drops of rain and all traffic lights stop working i wonder why ?

Anshu : I am sure u r missing traffic jams ..actually r u ?

Jane kya dhoondta hai e mere dil..tujko kya chahiye zindagi

I am confuse at this stage of my life..was never been like this.

I wanna do something BIG, focus on my career but at the same time wanna have personal life as well
I want to get married but when I meet broken families...i take a back seat
I wanna have kids but when I see my sister raising my nephew (its tough) and making sacrifices.....make me think again and again

I read this long time back..just sharing-

When you are kid u wait for college life so that u getaway from exams, strict teachers etc
When you reach college u think whem im gonna start earning
When u start earning..u eagarly wait to get married
When u get married..u wanna have kids
When u have kids...u wait for them to grow so that u get some time for yourself
When ur kids grow...u want to marry them off
When they get married and busy in their lives u feel lonely

Life is strange ??
What do u guys say?

Ek Sawaal

So if you had to choose what would you choose

Love and devotion

or

Trust and loyalty

I would choose trust and loyalty.

I am trying to think why would someone choose one of the two (well u cannot have both ans as women in 30's I know u know )

Love and Devotion- When you are in love and all things sweet.
I guess you can see your man loving you and being devoted to you.

Trust and Loyalty - Its a more logical choice and not one based on emotions.
Would also enhance the chances of longevity of the bonding .

So does love and devotion evolve into trust and loyalty ?
or rather in a good relationship evolve on these lines ????

PS Don't ask me why I asked this sawaal.
I am like a trainee on day 2 ;)

Ex Managers

Anhsu and Monica aaj kal koi blog nahin likh raha.

Bahut buri baat hai .

I was not sure what to write about today.
Work was as usual groom search was as usual ;) (lol)

Shweta is going to take another year to send me the few pics that she clicked of me.

I have to attend one of my Kindergarten friends daughters 1 yr birthday tomorrow.
Please suggest what should I take for da baby?
I am really excited to meet her.

Remember the sunscreen song that Prach sent
I was jus looking at the very old school pics on face book and then we reminiscing over comments about incidents etc. long back in school and suddenly I remembered so much.
Just like that line in the song about how your siblings are your link to the past.
These old firends were acting like that for my school memories
Will send you guys the pics (they are really funny and in one of them I look like a complete dada when in class IV )

Sorry I missed this IS PRACHI DRIVING ??????????

Singapore Sink ah sorry sank no no stank nahi song

Ah the million dollar question are we meeting this weekend ?????????
can we meet sunday ?

So everybody seems to have enjoyed our Singapore trip and taken time off from THE BLOG.
((Prachi yeh kya ho raha hai ? slow day se slowest blog tak ))

Well, Shweta is right I caught on my sleep and so did she !!!!
There is no comparison to waking up late in the morning having a nice breakfast.
She should thank the hotel that they wrapped up breakfast by 10.30 nahin to I would have woken up mid day only.
Definitely more joy than seeing tall skyscrapers, clean roads , size 0 women, size -10 men , butterflies or coloured birds.
so yes my enthu was 0 for singapore and being there changed nothing.

Highlights of my trip ate a crab (with shell messy but YUMMY)
bought a pair of formal shoes and a sisley bag.
And have started using my last trip BKK wala bag now :)
so this one has some waiting to do before I use it.
Overall I have been a good girl.

Loved the songs of the sea show (sometimes you wonder what all humans can think of) , the underwater tunnel and of course watching the GMAX reverse bungee jumping
The only reason I did not do it I am going to do it only once that will be wither in NZ or CPT
so did not want to kill my will to bungee jump.
(cannot forget prachi's face when her CD when she did it.)
And this reverse bungee jump i think wud have been scarier as the there is seat ur strapped to and then it is shot up to a height and then let loose like in bungee jumping and you flip in the air like a million times.
You have to be drunk to do it and thats why it is in Clark's Quay

Loved SQ, wonderful airlines, never had a response time of less than a minute from flight stewards.
and yes got a free joy ride on the way back was sitting on the tail and the plane went through turbulent weather (in the pilots language) for almost the entire journey so was being well shaken.

Almost boxed a taxi driver (this happens when I am with Shweta)
have to tell u this
we boarded the cab opposite the esplanade ie where the Merlion is
and in full Indian fashion, shweta or was it shagufta was telling the cabbie where we had to go without getting in the cab.
so this cabbie goes sit quickly u know we have rules and regulation in sinapo
arrey **** if you have rules then don't stop where you are not supposed to. hmm

( as if we don't in India or the rest of the world. we just choose not to follow them -true democracy)
And on second thoughts Singapore swam because they declared that I was SG  and G was as in GOD.
And the moment I called for a taxi there would be a Q outside because I am the one who TIPS.....

No Blog ????

What's happening gals...no one has written anything!!!!
PlZZZZZZZZZZ write
Our trip to Singapore was ok. we did not like the city much but they have few amazing places like underwater world, songs of the sea.
Our flight to Singapore was almost khali, we all had taken window seat behind each other buttttt destiny....both the seats went khali till Singapore !!! Ufffff hai re kismat!!!
we reached there in the evening.
We went to places like Clarke Quay (where Savy didnot let me do bungee jumping), Orchard Road, little India, Bugis street, Night Safari, Sentosa, Arab Street
Arab street was nice, we had yummy Egyptian food there.

Guys...one more thing Savy had gone there to catch up on her sleep!!!!!! she had spent 30 K to sleep in a hotel room.. crazy woman!!!

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

i have another day to go this week!

Hello Ladies,
S & S - May you be sucssessfull in your endeavour of finding sexy partners sitting next to you on the flights! Very cheap of you to not come to Mel from Sin - you are 1/2 way there..
Beautiful weather in Mel!! Don't i sound like the Brits - focus in life "The weather".
I am bogged down with lectures & commuting & assignments to complete - don't know if I am coming or going & missing home like crazy. Need to go on a shopping spree to please myself! i am tired of writing - so love reading yr blogs!
I am on for next friday - will be there on time....
Savy - listen to Prachi & behave!
Mons - Whats up - something interesting happpened in Hyd?

Enjoy-
A woman arrived at the Gates of Heaven.. While she was waiting for Saint Peter to greet her, she peeked through the gates. She saw a beautiful banquet table.Sitting all around were her parents and all the other people she had loved and who had died before her. They saw her and began calling greetings to her, "Hello - How are you! We've been waiting for you! Good to see you."
When Saint Peter came by, the woman said to him, "This is such a wonderful place! How do I get in?""You have to spell a word," Saint Peter told her.
"Which word?" the woman asked.
"Love."
The woman correctly spelled "Love" and Saint Peter welcomed her into Heaven.

About a year later, Saint Peter came to the woman and asked her to watch the Gates of Heaven for him that day. While the woman was guarding the Gates ofHeaven, her husband arrived.
"I'm surprised to see you," the woman said. "How have you been?"
"Oh, I've been doing pretty well since you died," her husband told her. "I married the beautiful young nurse who took care of you while you were ill. Andthen I won the multi-state lottery. I sold the little house you and I lived in and bought a huge mansion. And my wife and I traveled all around the world. We were on vacation in Cancun and I went water skiing today. I fell and hit my head, and here I am. What a bummer! How do I get in?"

"You have to spell a word," the woman told him.
"Which word?" her husband asked.

"Pneumonoultramicro scopicsilicovolc anoconiosis" , she replied.

Moral of the story: Never make a woman angry . . . there will be Hell to pay!

Hi

I plan to leave early today...kal early morning flight hai na baba.
I am happy as I dont have to work any more day (for this week only)

Savy- My swimming costume is depressed :(

ok bye gals...will see u guys on monday

Heat is on

Good news guys Col Prachi is now Brigadier :)

Prachi will be prchi and me will be me.
No I was not able to goto the yoga thingie.
Well, there is a story behind it and I know you guys love me for them.
Saturday was lazy day and since sunday morning I had this really horrible tooth ache.
Mons has said :30 is a life turning year and God is giving me a really strong message here.
This year I lost two and now I will loose my third wisdom tooth :)

Ok so monday I was a work and in till about 5 pm for a project shroject and then while going home
i went to the dentist and came back home like at 2130 or so And then today morning
my mamu's son was hospitalized (nothing major , a chest infection gone bad ) and we had to go see him.
So long day and moral of the story
sometime life just passes you by :) especially when you do nothing .
So prachi keep going at those calls believe me (I know u know) are better than my days at work.
Though mex pays me less but sometimes it pays me for nothing and I ain't liking it.

PS I will do yoga this sep gals don't worry.

Savi did ya ??

Savi u can run but you can not hide ha ha

My day was busy , no trainings but just calling up people sending my profile to places as my bank balance is starting to dip at great speed . There has to be some balance in life if the bank balance dips @ 1000 per hour or minute or second then it should increase at the same speed...so to get that balance right i made a whole lot of calls !
This being on my own is teaching me a lot about my self it's amazing ! since whatever i do effects only me i have to be really careful ....i dunno if i will succeed in making money or not but my learning is big ! BUT some days I can not take it ...But then i do yoga and sweat out the bad energy :D
Moral of the story YOGA IS Good ha ha so we back to you SAVI: where are you ?

AND THIS IS A DECLARATION
Shweta wants to stay in a hotel with a swimming pool and this is, when she does not know how to swim.
People, if she is found in the pool of the hotel we are staying in, you know it is because she was trying to SWIM and (not because I did something)
Because she now thinks the Baywatch lifeguards have been employed in Singapore hotel swimming pools

Hi

Uff !! the day went in deciding on hotel in Singapore....still confused !!! I want a hotel with swimming pool ha ha

I am learning how to manage people smartly from someone....and also smart work....kaam ki fikra karo na karo kaam ka zikra karo zaroor. bl...hell ...all are CH

ladies...i have an idea-lets open a training school and do something on our own///kya khyaal hai???

Nostalgia ***week??

Ebookers :)
My team commented yesterday that "those were probably the best days of Savy's life "
I have told them n number of stories of the glorious days.
I am hoping that does not hold true. Not because they were not good days because I want to see better. I think Ambrish should be thanked for getting some Mad people together.
I think there is not one person I have not been impressed with in that place till the later years.
One more thing I think we all left at a good time not getting bitter about the place.
I saw this pic of Cool gurus (we named that rotom) with one of the guys here he is ex tecnovate and I was like that was my office and what are you guys doing in there???

Anyways no doubt that THOSE were the days but I think it was a lot to do with all of us being able to look upto people (majority of them at least).
Also, I know all of you may not feel this but I had always felt sort of protected on the sales floor where you had nikhil n raja n rajeev taking the major blow and then doling it out to you.
Also,I think at least the organisation was very transparent about the money they wanted to make a bit vulgar but atleast all of us knew what was required.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

DID ya guys listen to the song .....TELL TELL

The funny bit is that nobody was unhappy in ebookers ....everybody i meet say that it was an amazing place. It seems as we were working in a place where only fun people worked and then YUMRAJ happened ha ha with his army called workforce.

Anshu : What are you subjects ? Maybe when you come back you can teach us some stuff that will be so cool. What was your project report about ?

MY yoga was great:D
Savi when are u joining ....trust me you will love it .

Hopefully when we guys go to GOA in Dec we will be size 0 Savi say what ?

SUNSCREEN is for everybody !!

Sherlock Holmes

Anshu-Of course, I remember..it was shocking behaviour..and we ..didnt have a life even then!!

..Anjali..was a specimen ..and i think we drove her away...

Ebookers Days

Well..what fun we had, it was a learning phase for me and thoroughly enjoyed.
I remember Pancham used to share cabin with Anshu and Monica....a self obsessed guy!!! Monica and Anshu used to come to cool gurus to share Pancham's wierd wierd stories.

Other people like MSB, NGY, VIM, RV ufffff
I fought with Vimmy once....dont remember why...also with Gopal yes I remember we were handling a batch together and I just could not adjust with him.
Anshu/mons - how u guys used to handle us???? we were so difficult and tough...now I realise when I am handling people.

but good fun...made some good friends

Anshu Anjali hai naam ....ask me

hey ho amazing ebookers days ....they were soooo much fun and we were the KING of the world !! Well we still are of our own world but that was different.
Nobody likes me in the 1st go i wonder why ??
1st impression
Savi : I liked her the day i took a session with her batch i guess sales training because nandita wanted to take my batch for some strange reason. I did not interact with her till the time she joined the training team . I remember savi and i use to sit together and argue endlessly about the sales floor ...kya man what passion na ?
Anshu & Monica : I would like to thank madhumeet for us ..she made us bond really really well. We have had some crazy days but it just made us like each other even more. AND THEN the famous meet in THE PARK HOTEL - THE DOWNFALL of evil empire he ha ha . I love the time in the HR room with alok and manish WOW that was fun.
Shweta : We are still in the process of knowing each other. I thought you were the very quite types BUT i can say that i am wrong. I am enjoying knowing you . My days @ yatra -some people really need to get over themselves and stop thinking others are fools! It is fun meeting some people :D

OK people we are meeting on SUNDAY before S&S vanish again to Singapore . Anshu please be on time ..living on a different continent is no reason to be late ;D

BTW i have cut my hair really short ...enjoying it and my Yoga was good !

Hello Girls

Good to hear from Anshu and Mons. both of u are studying at this age???? sad!!!
look at us- Savy and me traveling to Singapore and Prachi's is just back from bom.
Mons and Anshu -spice has all gone from ur lives...common!! kya kar rahe ho!!!!

Yes both of us (Savy and I) are quite optimistic...we are booking window seat so that we might get Mr Right next to us like bollywood movies..ha ha

Prach's - i hope u had a fantastic 2 days in Yatra :-)

would you guys believe this - we have not even travelled to Singapore and Savy is planning another trip to Pondicherry ohhhhhhhh let me just rephrase ...spiritual trip to Ashrams!!! and just to add to this she wanna take stopover in Bhopal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Savy- In case u find your Mr Right travel with him plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

First impression:
Mons : long long time back...I met her in Abacus office, she trained me on Abacus.... full day. Excellent trainer must say...lil strict though. when I joined training deptt...I used to find difficult approaching her as I was scared of her dead serious looks but we became pals soon.

Anshu : Bindaas and mast!!! Anshu dropped me home on my first day in training . the first question she asked- Any boyfriend ??? and i lied :-)

Prachi: Snobbish !!! saw her first time when she came to tiketing bay for something...but perception totally changed when I joined training dept...helpful....welcoming...Prachi - I rememeber your training on Multisector itinerary..that was good man

Savy : Oh My God!!! kitna boltee hai. ....i think that summarizes all:-)

I saw BAH..i liked Ranbir a lot !!

I still complain a lot!

it is 1130 at nite & am just back from an interesting class. Hv to stay up to write an assignment due tomorrow - still work at last minute .. Mons remember the time when we sat up at night to learn abt OZ & NZ & then took the class in stages & you even slept on the floor before yr next session!
Well abt 1st impressions:

we all know what I thought of Ms. Sharma! ha ha ha, still can't get the image out of my mind! i wonder what did Ambreesh think of bringing such a varied & different bunch together?! PS, MD, AT, Kam, NGY & the other lady whose english was ------
oh! This brings me to another memory - this one you have to ask Mons to elaborate on! Mons - remember when this lady (God can't recall her name- age i guess, but never mind, will call ler lady); fell in love wz one of her students?! & his newly wed wife was in Prachi's class. We the gossipy ladies were itching to know the truth & Kam followed them one day after the morning session (this was in C79) & lo-behold what did she see - the wife also parked in a diff lane waiting to catch the culprits!!!! ha ha ha & that is not only.

1 day Mons & i were returning home in the afternoon & we saw the lady go towards a car parked in the lane Opp the new office & slide down the seat (don't get naughty ideas.. she was just hiding) . Mons, me & chal meri Santro followed them to the Ashram crossing & recognised her by her hair-rubber band.... we couldn't believe our own sleuthing! now we couldn't contain ourselves & wanted Vimmi (who kissed the ground the lady walked on). So we decided to gv her a lift back home one day too - we were being so generous.. The repeat of the previous incident happened & we "guided" her towards recognising the scrunchy & our shock was so genuine!! & all we had were open mouths & so much of over acting .. pls ask Mons for expressions -they were to die for!
Now that i think My Tecnovate days were an experience and a lifetime back, but for the memories..

So live that your memories will be part of your happiness. ...

What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined... to strengthen each other... to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories.

More memories coming back to me & i can go on & on - but i need to get back to my assignment - or i will never pass!

Heritage

hey , happy people..am homesick now..I have been studying finance for the last 2 days phew!!

What life makes us do..Sunday was good, i went to Charminar(dirty and crowded) and then Golconda fort...it's really awesome..I have developed this love for our country's rich culture and heritage..I want to do something to preserve it..any ideas??

Talking about the first impressions-I still haven't figured out how I lasted with you all for so long!!I am trying to forget the first impressions...........................................:) :) :)

Prach-we exchanged one sentence in 40 days

Anshu-Was complaining about someone on day 1..i think the cab had come late to pick us up!!

Shweta-i knew from beforw and kinda liked but her funny side surfaced in COOLGURUS ..

Savy-I liked you when I interviewed you ........

hello party people

Me is back from the crazy city ! I had fun ..ran in the rain , when to this music gig in this place called blue frog which was great ! I am confused if i like that city or not still wondering
Mons come back now ..how much will ya study ?? Ok we have to meet this weekend if mons is
back.Let's all go for a nice play
Savi : I started reading Jhumpa Lahiri i like the way she captures the relationship between father & daughter so far so good
Me looking forward for next week.
Anshu : Who is this drew look alike tell tell ? Drew was perfect for u ...he was so sweet :)

Mons name of Voodo Restaurant

Thats the one you told us about .
Loooong time ago.
I remember to so, because till then you were the strict, serious, no nonsense Manager that I dreaded working for. In fact, when Anshu was almost about to leave for WNS and I had not quite moved from OPS.
I had thought of not joining training ;) because I thought I would not be able to relate to you.
So much so for "judging the book by the cover"

Lets all write about the first impressions we had of each other.
Prachi- OMG I still remember this. She was wearing an orange t shirt and black trousers.
I had heard so much of prachi is fab , this n that from Vinny (he used to worship the ground she walked on like so many of the oldies ;) . That I was like what this girl 2 days outta college.
Well, and then she was training the other batch and not mine when I joined so she was the other trainer ;) nice and cordial and busy.

Shweta- Sweet and quiet. Till I came to know her and her smart one liners.
Got along from day one. She was fine with everything and her kept her funny one liners coming.
And yes we shared similar opinions about the V n A team and of course Harry :)
(Well just to clarify before anyone gets it wrong V n A team members lovely people all of them but a not so good combo)

Anshu- had told me that you were joining and I and u were supposed to be look alikes (people need to get there eyes checked my bro says). So here to I had a prelude.
And looking at Anshu I was happy that people had that image of me. Bindaas, always smiling
and pleasant.
(Now now I am not sure if the Anshu will be happy of the converse )

error

I meant Clarke Quay and Boat Quay ..in Singapore

Am alive & kicking

hey folks..am alive(almost..) I am studying real hard people...so far it has been good..loads of new things to learn..but tremendous hard work..

Residential progms are actually, you get to meet so mant new people and spend so muc quality time with..i met some good people...(NOT hubby material, but that is the story of our lives!!

ANSHU_who is this Drew look alike???? How come you didnt tell me!! kutti..:)

What restaurant are you talking about, Savy?? I dont remeber..how many days are you going for?..I prefer SIN to BKK anyday...are your referring to Quarke and Boat key?? They the retaurants along the river...good fun..there is this retaurant that has a vodoo kind of a theme..chairs are like withches!! ha ha

Wishful thinking ;)

I am wishing and hoping that Mons has met this Hot n handsome aiyo guy in Hyderabad who has made her forget THE BLOG and the hot and humid weather.

I know for sure that Prachi is having a good time, Andy is too dependable in that regards ;)

And I am going to be sitting next to this rich, good looking, sensible, moral guy on my flight to Singapore who would have been fortunately ;) downgraded from his Biz class seats.

Shweta will also have good company (goes without saying -not me) in Singapore and will leave me alone to enjoy my rendezvous with Mr Sensible/Right.

Only downfall I would have liked to meet Mr Right in Rome or Amalfi.

I remember Shweta raving about Singapore and I would pour cold water over all the enthu by saying "Yuck! Singapore I don't want to go there is nothing there except for clean streets and tall buildings. And I am never wasting my money on it."

And 3 days ago Shweta calls and says Singapore chalna hai there this really cheap fare for 11k
and without blinking an eye I go, "Haan"

**Mons feedback---- I remember u had this fav restaurant in Singapore which one was it ??***

And above all I realise in the past two months deciding to go on this trip is the happiest/at peace/feel good time for me.
So much so that Mom can see it on my face and has not even asked me once how am I going to pay for it :) (because eventually she pays off all my credit card bills, she does not like her daughter paying interest to the banks)

Anyways if this is what I want,
I think, I have some more thinking to do.

And yes , Anshu you are going to meet this really nice Irish guy who looks like Drew
and he is incessantly trying to take you out on a date .oooo.....Arrey zara haan keh bhi do na...

****Happy studying u may also have a cute looking prof for your next term and then college is going to be all rosy and fun****

And about where are we going ?

WE ARE GOING WHERE WE WANT TO WITH HOPE AND FAITH IN OURSELVES.

South Indian Wedding

Good Evening Gals
Yesterday I attended wedding of one of my trainers..he is a south Indian.
Wedding was in South Indian temple in Mayur Vihar and guess the timings morning 1030. I was told that muhurat time is between 1030-1045, I was so keen on seeing their wedding...but like an Indian I was 10 minutes late and marriage was almost over... (South Indians are so punctual unlike us Indians :-) anways i missed the wedding but not the lunch which was actually a main focus. thankfully weather was good and it let us enjoy ethnic south Indian food as there are no AC's in temple!!!!! I was free by 1400 hrs (in just half day!!!!) and i came back home.
I got chance to relax at home after my hectic Udaipur trip...I slept...woke up at 6pm..hit the gym..then went to dental clinic for cleening. I also went to another doctor as I have bad throat too....so overall I DID NOT WORK

Where are we going?

Savy, yahan bhi suni manzil hai.. i am so bored
Parents hv gone back, I am broke and have so much studying to do.
It has been raining in Mel and the weather is bloody cold & just the other day i was telling someone it is finally getting warmer & i was enjoying the chill in the air..
I have 2 assignments to write for next & haven't even started & don't want to... Shwets not so much fun to study after the first few months, would prefer earning money any day.
Well i have seen both Singh is Kingh & BAH - i liked both & enjoyed them - i guess desperation for anything other than studies.. So why are you guys off to Singapore? come to mel from there - i think the Air Asia fares are very cheap.
Prachi why are you in BOM so often - why bon't you just get married & live there?!
Mons enjoy yourself & party hard in Hyd, but it must be hhhhot & humid....

Come on guys, Give me gossip - what is happening with the others?

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Udaipur was nice and relaxing

I am back to work (which i have started hating these days) after 3 days of my Udaipur trip. couldn't believe that Rajasthan can have a green place like udaipur...country site was beautiful. We took Mewar express from here which leaves at 1900 hrs fromNizamuddin, train was late and arrived at 0900 hrs on 15 Aug, checked into resort called Rajputana Resorts. Ist day we did a city tour - City Palace, fatehsagar lake, sahelion ki badi, lok kala mandal, Jagdish temple. 2nd day was full day excursion to Kumbal garh fort and Ranakpura Jain temple. The fort is built right on the hill top...and I enjoyed climbing .(and my legs......aah, ooh aouch). On our way to fort there was a wildlife sanctury....we saw lot of animals (Mr Lion did not come out of his den though) . Ayush (my nephew) got over excited. Last day was for temples- Ekling Ji, Sas Bahu temple and Srinath ji.

Srinath ji is very famous temple and since Udaipur is very close to Ahmedabad, lot of Gujju's visit this place. Temple was all crowded. I did nothing but stood at one place and I fled along with the crowd. ..had darshan and came back the same way ha ha.
Savy, Mons- remember Golden temple Stampede...Srinath ji was worse than that.

Finally we were dropped to Railway station to catch Mewar express at 1830 hrs.
and the journey ends......and work starts again.

Ok.... I wont be able to make it for Goa in December as my brother would be here and and he would be getting engaged!!!!...yes he is found a life partner and wud marry her...most probably next march....I have been given deadline till next march too !!!!!...so I am on groom hunt now.

gals : Can we plan goa trip in Nov instead?
Savy ; what abt our Rajasthan trip....i guess its still on!!! shall i make a tentative itin and send and then we all can go to Rajasthan???

Can't tell how good it is too receive free money :) whatta blessing some festivals are.

After a loooong time am looking forward to Monday and I don't know why.

Prachi ----- you still have an unfinished assignment remember we all were planning to meet ??

Mons- Have a good time in Hyderabad and hope u shopped till you dropped.

Finally

Well done, Anshu...glad to have you in the fold..

weekend was nice & dry...it was bliss..I went and spent the day at the parlour, trying to look younger..with LIMITED SUCCESS..:( :( but who cares..there is always Prachi's yoga..

Am off to Hyderabad for 15 days, away from the same people and walls..looking forward to it..

I plan to go shopping today..haven't shopped in years...

You finally got me to Blog!

Congratulations Prachi - you got your promotion!
How are you guys doing? Mons is right I do read the blogs once in a while & feel so much a part of your lives that i forget the distance..
Thank you all for the Wishes, got to speak to all except PS - ha ha probably because i knew she would start pestering me to Blog. Mons & Savy, by the way - she did sms me to Blog, the lady must be earning a lot to send international sms's.
Mom Dad just left yesterday & i am depressed... but it is good though, as for the past 3 weeks i haven't even bought my course books, let alone start studying them. It is puring in Melb too & it is B..... freezing cold too!! Uni is fun yet difficult at our age - sitting for 3 hours at a stretch is difficult.
To gv you guys an idea - i travel from home to the nearest station (20min) take a train to the city from them (25-30Min) ; Take either a tram or bus to Uni & same way back home. since most of my classes end around 2130, i end up at home around 2245. since we are away from the CBD i am a little paranoid at the station at night, but from the city @ 2200 also the damn train is full - means fullllllll. & most of them students & that too Indian, feel so much at home then... ha ha ha
Unfortunately guys, no good looking men here - OZ are arrogant, mostly chinkies (look like Chaks) & the rest are Indians.... Wondering what the hell did i come so far off for?!
Can i upload pics on the blog? yes - How?
rest later & guys keep up the good work - I am loving it!

New Record

Six hours from Gurgaon to Vasant Kunj I hold a new personal record courtesy 14Aug, my beloved rainy day and of course the corrupt and no common sense officials and fellow countrymen.
I hold the record FOR six hours of non stop non driving and sitting in the car .
Anyone else up for a challenge ?
Wonder if any of my mumbaite friends can challege that.

Never am I going to say that Rohini is too far and takes ages to reach, I hold a new definition of ages to reach.
Ages to reach is when you have a road and a vehicle but you still can not move.

Ecstasy- to use your car's third gear after 4 hours of driving.

Yes, Mons approaching and eventually crossing thirty redefines so many things :)
Happy INDEPENDENCE DAY in a good way as we have a bright sunny day and am looking forward to spending rakhi tomorrow with my maternal side.
All of us cousins play cricket and fly patang, I am not good at either but am good at bullying and pleading so they let me bat and hold the manjha when the kite is far away from danger.

Yes, the jam and the bad roads are part of life and essential for us to learn a lesson as a developing country. The same as a part of growing up.
Now it is upto us to make things better.
So JAI HIND and enjoy your day.

Marooned!!

...It is a ing, I have dmess outside, no traffic is moving ..so I am just gossiping..!! Thank God for a long weekend ahead..
Col, I think yoga is a super idea..and of course, your target audience is just right..

AT reads blogs however doesn't write..(NRI from NOIDA attitude)

Hey, our Olympic guy is kinda cute..very cool.

Jhola utah ke chalein

Cant help but think of this one line.
Call me an escapist but that is what I wanted to do this entire week.
To top it all have started reading Paulo Coleho's Zahir and in the first few pages of the book the main characters wife is talking about how people just end up working, taking care of kid etc and never do what they want to do and most of them want to travel, seems like she is talking about me. SO i just want to pick up my bag and go......
Alexander the super tramp :)
The day at work passed and I did not even notice.
Phew! thats called a lot of insincerity

To deny our own impulses is to deny the very thing that makes us human - Matrix

Hi Gals

Finally I am writing blog...thanks to Prachi as she guided me on steps. I normally dont behave abnormal.......i think this case can be taken in isolation and not the true reflection of my intellegence..ha ha ha.

I am working on a new project these days which is keeping me very busy and thanks to rain which keeps me in traffic for 5-6 hours daily. net net dont have time to think about anything else except work..GODDDDDD help me. Last week when I was stuck in traffic jam at NH8 I wrote a blog without logging in....i dont know where has it gone posted:-) funny me

I really look forward to this week end as I wud be travelling to Udaipur (Yahooooooooo)...oh forgot to tell u guys last week end I visited Jaipur. It was a fam trip from Oberois. it was such a relaxing trip. I took break from my health regime and had good yummy food, stayed in Trident. There were 9 people from diff diff travel agency (most of them were owners of their agncies). In my 2n/3 d trip - we visited Forts, did shopping, spent half day in Raj Vilas.

Raj Vilas is a lovely property and you can rent its highest category room for just Rs 2 Lacs/night!!!!! It has your own private swimming pool along with conf room, garden and other things. Jaipur was blessed with amazing weather at that time....when we were riding up to see forts we felt that we are in Mussorie....aravali ranges..clouds...cool breeze WOW!! trust me Jaipur was it at its best.

and last but not the least ladies...hold your breath..I only blew 1000 bucks in shopping///are u guys not proud of me????

ok bye for now...will keep writing!!

TEACH India

Hey folks..

I have enrolled in this & have been allocated a NGO on M.G. Road..some meaning to life....

...another face of life

...This weekend taught me a lot..I am richer..sadder??I dont know...time will decide.

Saturday sun was welcome & I thoroughly enjoyed my drive to Delhi..I was so looking forward to meeting my folks..dont know why, we dont agree on anything when we are together!!!
Mom had organized a Shiv puja for maasi's long life...very interesting ritual, where panditji in the temple keeps chanting mantras while a stream of water and milk keeps falling on the shiv lingam..we managed to get maasi to the temple and she too participated in the puja, in her little ways. Her right hand has almost paralyzed..and she seems completely drained of energy..
I remember going to her as a kid to finish my needle work, she was so good at it...the same hand is useless now, she cant even eat without help...HOW MUCH WE TAKE FOR GRANTED, not realizing how lucky & blessed we are..

..Sunday morning I had to take her to India's number one oncologist, who comes to Delhi once a month..I hear it is easier to meet God than him...
Anyways, after a couple of hours of waiting we got to meet him...I have never seen a more approachable, warm, smiling doctor...so patient, he has patience to listen to everything you want to say..and meets over 200 patients in a day when he comes to Delhi..most people get cured after speaking with him...& guess what ??he is wheel chair bound...suffering from polio..
..I have been feeling like a useles worm ..I need to look for a better definition of ACHIEVEMENT.

..anyways, he says maasi has a long way to goo...lot of mediccation..& no guarantees...but then nothing comes with a lifetime guarantee..I have FAITH in God..he will take care..

Tomorrow is Monday..another week...more commitments..hope I fulfill them all...each one of us has a role to perform , irrespective of what's going on in our mind and heart...
...take care...we are blessed to have found each other

savi question : i wonder

Do you think that if we give these street children food rather than money will make it better for them? or are we just clearing our guilt when we give these kids money ?

Good Sunday & Savi well done !

It was a good active Sunday unlike my lazy Saturday :) I went driving around town which feels great. Waiting to finish my book ..it just not seem to get over!
Hoping my Monday to be good , i like Mondays strange but true i always have from the time i started working. It seems to give me a aim & reason to enjoy my weekend ..dam i think i am a weirdo!!! Am i the only one ? or everybody is somebody's weirdo ?
But these days Monday has taken a new meaning for me.

Seize the day. Make your lives extraordinary

*Weekend Over*

This was a nice weekend overall and for a change I am writing the blog without Prach asking me to write it :)
Typical sunday is a lazy morning (and if you stick around read more of my daily blogs
Lazy is how I start my day)
and a quick de tour of office as there was some LAN cable switching shwitching,
had to make sure everything was A OK before everything went back to Monday mode.

Went to Khan Market today and had this tall poor kid begging for guess what ?
well, his exact words were, "didi, chips khila do"
And I could not help but stare at him.
One I do not give money to street beggars and it seems they always end up chasing me thinking just because I look soft I am soft and will melt and sympathize and loosen my purse grip.
Sympathize I do but not the other bit.
( What to say its a sad state of affairs for the poor whichever way you look at it, especially the kids and the older people)
Two, from asking for food to a chips bag, Macdonald's Pepsi etc, commercialization has really caught us and not left the street kids untouched.
and as if by telepathy while driving back there was this RJ talking about a girl on a specific red light who begs in a particular style and she was asking people to call her up (Yawn!) and share their experience.
I remembered one of such experience .While driving to Okhla from JNU there is this red light and there was this road work that had been going on for some time and the labourers had there tents somewhere nearby. A couple of kids would be on this red light and try and clean your windshield and then ask for a rupee (very dangerous). This little girl came next to my window and tells me, "didi, aaj bahut achi lag rahi ho, ek rupiya de do". I could not help but smile and gave her a rupee. Made me wonder if somebody taught her that or was I really looking nice.Vanity I tell you made me sacrifice my principle.
Since, then I have heard many use the same line.
The kid today also reminded me of this kid I met at the entrance of Dilli Haat and was very persistent that I get my shoes polished and I refused. So he asked me for some bucks and I was like what do you need that for? and he goes I am hungry, mujhey chowmein khana hai.. So knowing that govt. schools offer free lunches as an incentive for the poor to join and get educated I asked him if he went to school and had his mid day meal and he very innocently said, " haan lekin woh to din mein khaya tha.Ab to shaam ho gayi"
Speechless I gave him a tenner.

How do you expect a kid to understand that begging is a crime when he is not even getting proper meals?
